By acquiring Groupama Banque in April 2016, Orange set foot on the bank in France. The telecommunications operator has since formalized its own online bank called Orange Bank, and it has been available since November 2017.

If you have received a cold welcome from the first users due to the errors of the application, it seems that since then it has improved significantly. Ratings on the App Store have recovered well from 3.1 / 5 (2,300 people) in January to 4.4 / 5 for 13,900 notes at this time.

An update of the design.

A few days ago, the Orange Bank application saw a new update (v2.3.1) that brought some small minor changes to the latter. In this case, the historical logo has changed slightly since the name "Orange Bank" has disappeared to make room for a white band (it does not stop remembering the last Societe Generale logo). This is a minor but effective change, because the name was not entirely readable on small screens anyway.

We could see a novelty in the Apple Watch Orange Bank application: now it is possible to see the balance of your bank account directly from your wrist (see the screenshot above). However, it is still very basic compared to applications for the connected Apple Watch that can be seen in other banks.

Orange Bank formalizes your money back.

The main innovation of the neo-bank since the beginning of this year is none other than the premium credit card that was presented a few months ago. For a contribution of € 7.99 per month, the client benefits from additional insurance and guarantees, the absence of expenses abroad (payments and withdrawals), higher ceilings and a dynamic cryptogram system (3-digit code in the back of the card). In recent days, a new advantage has been added to the services available to premium card holders: reimbursement.

Our Lemon Squeezer colleagues who have established a section dedicated to online banking point to the limits of this reimbursement offer: reimbursement is only available to paying customers of Orange Bank, limited in duration (up to 9 October 2019) and, above all: limited to purchases in Orange stores and on group websites. Please note that the general conditions also mention a maximum limit of € 100 for the refund.
